Steps in Repairing Tuffa Tanks

   
               

1. TUFFA TANKS are the tuffest in P.N.G! But, in the land of the unexpected, accidents do happen.. Following is a quick and easy repair system - basic repair items are included in this kit (power tools not included - we recommend Metabo from K.K. Kingston).

2. Measure approximate size of patch required. Make patch 30-50mm longer than damage.

       

3. (a) Cut patch from material (supplied) using hacksaw blade (supplied) or electric jigsaw. (b) Cut a matching patch for inside repair.

4. (a) Use marker to set correct position of patch on repair. (b) Use sandpaper (supplied) to rough in and outside of repair and back of both patches.

       

5. Use drill bit (supplied) match drill on corner of patches

6. Hold patches in position on outside of the tank and match drilled corners. If the repair is very long, add extra screws as required (10 supplied)

       

7. Apply 732 sealant (supplied) to in and outside of repair and around screw holes.

8. Tighten screws - washers in and outside of patches.

       

9. Wipe off excess sealant with clean cloth.

  • Repair TUFFA material

  • 1 x Jobber drill 1/4

  • 1 x Hacksaw blade

  • M6 x 40 screw with nut & 2 washers (10 x stainless steel)

  • 1 x Dow Corning 732 sealant 140ml tube

  • 1 x Sand paper P80 grit
