"There's No Tank Tuffa Than a Tuffa Tank"

General Information.

TUFFA tanks are manufactured from virgin medium density polyethylene. Which is: "Food and Drug administration approved". The polyethylene used in TUFFA tanks complies with relevant NZ/AS4020 and NZ/BS6920 (BS 6920) standards for potable (drinking) water. The colours used in TUFFA tanks meet the Australian standard AS2070 parts 1, 6&8 for food contact.

Resistance to Algae growth: The coloured polyethylene compound used reduce the growth of algae by inhibiting the transmission of sun light. It is the compounded tank colour and not any addition of a fungicide which effectively prevents the growth of algae. With wall thickness exceeding 4mm all TUFFA tanks are designed to meet the Australian water tanks standard AN/NZS 4766 [INT]: 2002 polyethylene.

Manufacturing Standards: TUFFA tanks are designed to meet the Australian water tanks standard AN/NZS 4766 [INT]: 2002 polyethylene. They are manufactured under strict control in our purpose built manufacturing plant in Lae. Each tank is checked for compliance to our quality assurance standards before being shipped. Ultraviolet light stability

Ultraviolet light stability: The compounded polyethylene tank colours used to manufacture TUFFA tanks contain an excellent UV rated additive package. It is designed to handle UV conditions in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific region.

Construction: Tanks are manufactured in ONE PIECE CONSTRUCTION. 220, 1000 and 2000 gallon tanks are provided with domed top or roof. We chose this style for strength. Not only is it stronger than flat or ribbed types, it means that in the event of an earthquake the water will not burst the top out easily. Dirt and rubbish falls off the domed top and does not collect in the strainer. The top of the tank is then removed if required for transportation. By removing the top, a number of tanks can be nested or grouped together. By this method the cost of transportation can be greatly reduced. The top of the tank is easily reinstalled and fixed in place by screws. The unique design on the TUFFA tank lid and the upper body of the tank ensures that the original strength and rigidity is maintained when the tank lid is reassembled. Both the one and two piece tanks are extremely strong and durable.

Tank Colour: The standard TUFFA tank colour is River Gum Green. However different colours are available on request.

Tank Sizes: 250 Ltr tank generally for rooftop applications or small capacity storage, 350ltrs Squat, 220 gallon (1000 Ltr); 1000 gallon (4500 Ltr), 1800 gallon (8000 Ltr) and 2000 gallon (9000 Ltr).

Foundation base: TUFFA tanks can be mounted on various types of bases such as: (i) An elevated stand. Care must be taken to ensure that the design will handle the weight and possible earthquake movement. (ii) compacted sand base (iii) concrete slab with reinforcing mesh to prevent breakage. Separate instruction sheets are included with each tank kit giving details of how to install your TUFFA tank.

All Tuffa Tank products are manufactured in Accordance with: AS/NZs 4766 (INT): 2002, The standard for Polyethylene storage tanks for water.
